Students CBTV Festival "Dateless" Remus Buznea and Kyriaki Kyriakou

Student Animation Festival of Cartoon Brew continues today with Dateless led Remus Buznea and Kyriaki Kyriakou at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, England. The film is based on interviews recorded with young people based on their date to discuss.

Although the concept of animation to audio interviews are not new, with many of the classic examples of physical well-being in the , Lost Tribes of New York City prove Dateless that he still creative when doing an effective option for the right reasons.

What seems right in Dateless is honesty and impartiality uncertainties of respondents who feel very pleasantly asked about by the administration. Administrators and Buznea Kyriakou, with sound editing and management to new characters and four to make sure that every character is still a distinct personality, and it has determined the public.

Optimistic and colorful design of the film, which was created entirely by computer animation is good for the playful tone of the film. Was filled with a sense of humor, animation and visual malignant character (the interaction between the two men smoking is great) accompanied. Whether audio or video performance, it is not a false note in Dateless.

IDEA

Has raised the idea Dateless us discover the strange world of VHS Love, where people reach out to potential partners from the registry itself in what was the equivalent of a personal video display. We decided on the spot, we should do something like a cartoon.

He was one of the first things we want this animation to help you more than what we had done before an individual basis based. This means that a lot of research needs to be done. We both started dating profiles online that get to be the opposite sex, and began to "papers." This research was not successful at all. What we do not get from these interactions were interesting, so that a group of people we had met on the internet problems that may react in an interesting way for fear of "datable".

We were able to get a group of very close friends interviewed, because to convince them to feel comfortable to answer the questions honestly. Materials that we have exceeded our expectations, and then we knew we had our animation.

Tools and processes

We had all-digital, with Photoshop and After Effects for the installation. Been sound editing in the audit, we have more than four hours of recorded sound in the form of interviews and the need to change the C to about four minutes. After selecting the audio sectors we knew we operate, we have begun to move in Photoshop.

Challenges and Experiences

Perhaps the biggest challenge to try the film, to give each character arc was to restructure. We wanted the audience to sympathize with all the characters at the end of the film. Although it is difficult to do a bit, and the process was very enjoyable for both of us, that we began to feel very close to the characters that were created.

For this reason, we have discovered something important about the way we work, we can decide whether something is how we play good or bad for our film on the basis of the animation / recording / editing.

Inspirations

Our friends were certainly the greatest source of inspiration for this animation. Based on all the characters heavily on them, inspire us not only by the honesty in the interviews, but also by observing the body language of their own, mannerisms and quirks, and the use of information technology to the characters embody point where we thought it friends accuracy we have is. What we hope to achieve, the impression that to give exist outside of these discussions, the characters and the audience is interested in learning more about them.

Where do you see within five years

Hopefully back side by side, you almost everything. Across the film, as long as we can make a living out of it, and hopefully getting our own films
